2017 World Champ Veterans

National teams with players ranging in age 40 years and older entered World Championship Veterans on 24-26 March 2017 in Puget-sur-Argens in southeastern France, close to the French Riviera.

The sport of Paintball is something wonderful! It helps sportsman to stay fit and keep up their spirits for many years, which is most important at any age. Their fortitude, their passion and their nobleness are inspiring examples to the younger generation.

It is gratifying to know that the number of athletes who take part in veterans competitions is growing year by year. Lately, the players of the older generation have greatly improved their skills, which makes the Veterans World Championships one of the most important events of the European Paintball Federation.

This year the number of participants of the World Championship Veterans was bigger than before – 12 National teams participated!

The teams were placed in four groups of three teams each, to play the remaining two in their group. The two best-placed teams from each group advanced to the Quarterfinals. The rest teams had one more game to play for the ranking position.

This year Polish team showed a good result by getting to playoff, as well as Swedish team. It was also a surprise to see them in finals, playing for the 1st place! It was a very good step ahead for Sweden! Despite they did not make it to the gold ... but getting silver this time is already a lot comparing to last year when they finished 4th!

Russia turned out to be the undisputed “No. 1” this year, they confirmed their World Champions title from last year. Well done, Russia!

We would like to congratulate all the participants, the National Teams and all the National Federations that were involved in the organization. Thanks must go to the Euroref guys for all their hard work, and those who helped to produce the very best paintball atmospheres – the spectators!

And also we are grateful to Millennium Series for their help in organisation of such wonderful event!
